This project explores digital abstraction through two complementary processes, transforming the landscape identity into immersive, living artworks. By employing millions of agents, we reinterpret real and generated - fake - inputs into evolving digital paintings that immerse viewers in dynamic and abstract expressions of the city’s essence.

Latent Fujairah: A Machine’s Hallucination
The first digital painting originates from AI-generated latent walk videos, crafted by a StyleGAN model trained on over 1,000 curated images of Fujairah. These images span the city’s rich natural and cultural elements—its rugged Hajar Mountains, shimmering sands, Gulf waters, historic landmarks like Fujairah Fort and Al-Bidyah Mosque, and its industrial hubs including ports, quarries, and factories.

This latent walk represents a machine's interpretation of Fujairah, weaving interpolations of its diverse frames into a speculative visual experience. Through computer vision, blob tracking, and recognition, the latent world is transformed into a particle-based simulation. Millions of agents traverse this space, creating trails that reinterpret the AI-generated forms. The result is a dynamic painting where natural elements are distilled into a digital palette—greens of mountain vegetation, blues of the sea, yellows of the sands, and browns of the rocky landscape—blending into a poetic, computational abstraction of Fujairah.

Real Fujairah: A Human Perspective Abstracted
In contrast, the second digital painting emerges from real video footage of Fujairah, capturing the city’s textures, materials, and motion directly from the world. This real-world input is abstracted through similar techniques—particle-based simulations and millions of agents tracing trails through computational space. Unlike the AI-driven hallucination, this painting retains a grounding in the tangible, though the input itself dissolves into abstraction, leaving behind a living canvas of movement and color.

This duality invites viewers to experience two distinct interpretations: one shaped by the machine’s latent imagination, and the other rooted in reality yet equally abstracted. Together, these paintings offer a dialogue between the figurative and the conceptual, exploring how AI and computational systems can reinterpret landscapes and identities into unseen possibilities.

Millions of Agents, Infinite Possibilities
The core of both projects lies in the use of agent-based simulations, where millions of autonomous particles interpret their inputs through trails and connections. These agents transform raw data into complex visual systems, creating synergies that mimic natural flows—like wind through sand, waves on the coast, or the movement of people and goods through Fujairah’s industrial and cultural hubs.

A New Lens on Fujairah
Together, these digital paintings reimagine Fujairah as a living, breathing ecosystem of forms and colors, transcending its physical reality. They invite viewers to witness a city where the past, present, and speculative future converge in a dialogue between human creativity, machine learning, and computational aesthetics. This project becomes a window into the new ways we can perceive and interpret the world.
