Urban Design of Jincheng Park Area in Pidu District, Chengdu.
A Unified Urban Hub that Merges Transit, Nature, and Community in Pidu’s Evolving Landscape

From Barcelona to Beijing, Shenzhen to Chengdu, a scalar symmetry in projectedl leaps and positions.

This project consists of constructing a unified structure that unites development and citizens’ emotions. Pidu's human civilization and urban space are surrounded by a blend of mountains and rivers. With these surroundings, we must rebuild and protect water as a core element in urban identity.

The Jincheng Park Area is located in the key section of the development axis of Hongguang Avenue. The high-speed railway, subway, and other public transportation converge, bringing a large number of people to the area. The urban development is relatively mature. There are three key values:

Location advantage. The linkage of the three tracks brings human flow and challenges conventional traffic, convenient transportation, and complex functions.

Environmental advantage. The original water system and the green belt have a mutual linkage.

Functional planning. The project takes the public railway system as the center, establishing work, commerce, culture, and residence as one highly effective compound urban area.

The project has this generation plan:

Establishing Xipu Station as the core and forming the hub of the area.
Preserving and expanding the area's original water system.
Establishing a small-volume commercial block to create a pleasant and energetic walking space.
A shared platform along the station and commercial block will be placed to connect the Xipu Station, Park under the viaduct, and surrounding plots efficiently and conveniently.
The main commercial office is arranged around Xipu Station and extended to the southwest side with a T-shaped layout.
Placing core node buildings along the periphery of the ‘T’ structure to activate each area.
Setting up high-rise landmark towers in the North District to create a city portal.
Laying houses along the southwest side to form a lively community with surrounding businesses.
