High-fidelity 3D digital twins of the Prado Museum's Eight Muses, meticulously restored and calibrated for projection mapping, historic archiving, and immersive artistic deployment.
In collaboration with the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and the Biblioteca dell’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei e Corsiniana, Spatial Forces executed the digital restoration and spatial reconstruction of the iconic Eight Muses from the Museo del Prado in Madrid. Operating under strict museum preservation constraints that precluded direct physical contact or close-range scanning, the project established a specialized photogrammetric photoprocess to reconstruct the classical sculptures into pristine digital assets suitable for large-scale spatial media, projection mapping, and archival preservation.
The digital pipeline was executed across four surgical phases:
Non-Invasive Capture & Mesh Densification: High-resolution optical capture translated distant spatial data into dense, high-polygon volumetric meshes without compromising the physical artifacts or site conditions.
Geometric Refinement: Topology processing, structural repair, and surface detail recovery to reconstruct missing volumetric nuances restricted by ambient occlusion during capture.
Photometric Correction: Advanced texture fixing and delighting routines designed to strip environmental light bias, shadow noise, and ambient color casts from the original gallery conditions.
Archival Calibration: Neutral surface color balancing and material map preparation, ensuring raw digital fidelity for projection mapping, digital documentation, and real-time artistic production.
